BTS Grammy Nominations Announced

Yay! The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on January 31, 2021 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

It will be hosted by 'The Daily Show's' Trevor Noah.

Around this season, a lot of discussion on the nominations of the award centers around artists who were viewed to have been snubbed from nominations.

K-pop group BTS (방탄소년단) earned their >>>FIRST EVER<<< Grammy Award nomination on Tuesday (November 24th, 2020) for their hit song 'Dynamite' released on August 21, 2020.

This news makes the ARMY, fans of the band, excited. By the way, ARMY stands for "Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. Cool.

Last year, many BTS fans were super upset that the band did not get any recognition from the Recording Academy. 

BTS's 2019 album 'Map of the Soul: Persona' sold over four million copies and became the best-selling album in South Korean history. Therefore, a lot of fans thought this merits attention from the Grammys. Unfortunately, however, the band did not get any nomination.

However, this year, Dynamite racked up 101.1 million views by the end of its first day, becoming the most-viewed music video premiere on YouTube. This is not it. The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the band's first number-one single in the United States and making BTS the first all-South Korean act to top the Hot 100.

올해는 방탄소년단이 올 8월 발매한 '다이너마이트'가 그래미 어워드 수상 후보로 지명되었는데요!

전 세계 아미들은 그야말로 흥분의 도가니에 빠졌습니다.

사실 재작년, BTS 팬들은 BTS가 수상 후보로 지명조차 되지 못했다는 사실에 크게 분노했습니다. 그래미가 그들만의 리그라는 것이지요.

재작년 BTS의 앨범 'Map of the Soul: Persona' (맵 오프 보울: 페르소나)는 4백만 장이 파렸고, 한국 대중 음악 사상 가장 많이 필린 앨범이라는 기록을 세웠습니다. 그러니 팬들은 BTS의 그래미 수상을 내심 기대했었지요. 그러나 안타깝게도 BTS는 수상 후보로 지명조차 되지 못했습니다.

그러나 드디어 올해 '다이너마이트'의 유투브가 공개 된 첫 날 1억뷰를 돌파하고 유투브에서 최다 조회수를 기록한 뮤직비디오가 됩니다. 이게 다가 아닙니다. 이 노래는 빌보드 핫 1 00에 1위를 기록하기도 하지요. 이 기록은 BTS의 첫 북미 싱글이기도 하고, K-Pop 중 빌보드 핫 100 1위를 차지한 첫 노래가 됩니다.
